RBM’s range of Air Separators, Dirt Separators or the combined Air & Dirt Separators can be used in both heating and cooling systems. Available in both threaded and flanged versions with sizes from G1/2” up to DN600.
In addition, Magnetic dirt separators are also available from RBM utilising a powerful magnet to capture particles such as rust and sand that are formed due to corrosion and scale during the normal operation of a system.
It is recommended to keep the maximum speed of the fluid in the pipe within the value of 1.5m/s. Higher velocities may impair the proper operation of the air discharge device or generate noise.
The separators are made up of two parts:
Active: The area where microbubbles are formed as a result of strong turbulence and swirling motion. Microbubbles blend together becoming bubbles. Using RBM’s innovative stainless steel 3 layer cartridge design with different filtering grades, allows the fluid to travel directly through the cartridge with the continuous changes in sections leading to a swirling motion which promotes the release of the micro bubbles.
Passive: High performance Float-operated air vent valve to eliminate the air bubbles (Discharge guaranteed up to 10 Bar). The removal of both trapped air and dirt in a hydraulic system is critical to reducing unnecessary breakdowns and malfunctions helping to:
- Increase heating and cooling efficiency
- Reduce the formation of corrosion in all points of the system
- Reduce extraordinary maintenance work
- Reduce the effects causing system noise
- Lower the cost of system management
